Aoba Seragaki’s 1/7 scale figure has quietly become one of the sharpest barometers for how mid-2010s BL game merchandise is performing on Japan’s secondary market, and the price movement over the past eighteen months tells a story worth unpacking. First released by Max Factory in April 2013 and reissued through Good Smile Company in December 2014, the sculpt captures Nitro+CHiRAL’s protagonist with his trailing blue hair, oversized headphones, and the AllMate Ren perched beside him, all mounted on a base that echoes the Rhyme sequences at the heart of DRAMAtical Murder. Over a decade on, complete and undamaged copies have grown noticeably scarcer, and recent listings across Mandarake, Surugaya, and Yahoo Auctions Japan show a steady climb in asking prices rather than a speculative spike. That trend reflects sustained fan activity around DMMd, the lingering reach of the 2014 anime adaptation, and a broader collector return to otome and BL titles from the same era. The article ahead walks through the figure’s production timeline, the sculpting and paint cues that separate authentic stock from the bootlegs now circulating, current price bands on the major Japanese resale platforms, and a practical checklist for vetting a listing before committing to a purchase. Readers will come away with a clear sense of what the figure actually costs today, how to spot a counterfeit at a glance, and whether the current market favors buying, holding, or waiting out another cycle.

From the acclaimed near-future BL game DRAMAtical Murder comes a 1/7 scale pre-painted figure of the protagonist, Aoba Seragaki.
Sculpted with Max Factory’s renowned precision, the figure faithfully captures Aoba’s vibrant blue hair, iconic headphones, and his AI pet companion Ren, all set on a dynamic base evoking the game’s digital world.
Originally released in 2013, this highly popular item has become a rare and sought-after collector’s piece.

Release Background

• First Release: April 2013 (Manufacturer: Max Factory / Distributor: Good Smile Company)

• Rerelease: December 2014

The figure originates from the 2012 BL visual novel DRAMAtical Murder (DMMd) for PC. The story is set on the fictional near-future island city of Midorijima, where the luxurious, corporation-built district Platinum Jail contrasts starkly with the run-down old town.

The protagonist, Aoba Seragaki, is a young man recognizable by his striking blue hair and signature headphones. Living with his loyal AI pet Ren, Aoba’s peaceful days are soon disrupted as he becomes involved in the digital battle game Rhyme and the street conflicts known as Scrap. Along the way, he encounters various male characters, leading to a story interwoven with friendship, rivalry, and romance.

Upon its release, the game quickly captured the attention of BL fans and visual novel enthusiasts in Japan and abroad, praised for its unique near-future setting and detailed character design. In 2014, it was adapted into a 12-episode TV anime, which expanded its recognition among a broader audience. Later, in 2021, JAST Blue released the official English localization, further growing its international fanbase. Since then, demand for figures and related merchandise has continued to rise steadily.
